Principle Job Responsibilities:
  • Support the team with the execution of PR and Digital Marketing campaigns to clients within the ICT sector.
  • Action various tasks for the client that contribute to the monthly SLA under the guidance of the AD
  • Perform research to support the delivery of technology-orientated press announcements
  • Have existing media contacts and relationships in broadcast, print and online media, specifically business and tech media
  • Actively develop strong relationships with the media, as well as regularly update and maintain media lists
  • Possess an interest in and understanding of what makes good content (a nose for news), how to identify a good angle and make a story go beyond IT trades
  • Stay abreast of the right journalists to engage with at all times and secure Tier 1 coverage to meet client SLAs
  • Source feature, speaking opportunities as well as profiling opportunities
  • Pitch and secure coverage in relevant media and deal with ad hoc media queries under the guidance of AD
  • Provide newsroom angles (trending in the media) and special days/months (E.g. Cyber Awareness Month)
  • Provide organisational coordination and administrative support to the team on projects
  • Monthly reporting on each client
  • Ensure required account documentation is accurately and timeously supplied for billing
  • Timely and accurate reporting
  • Ensure a seamless working environment by providing effective cross-functional communication
  • Scheduling meetings where necessary and ensuring all preparation for the meeting including status documents, agendas, meeting take-outs
  • Regularly update tasks on the relevant platform including deadlines
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Matric – Essential
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (PR, Marketing) – Essential
  • Drivers Licence (and own transport) – Essential
  • Five years relevant working experience – Essential
  • An understanding of local ICT landscape – Essential
  • Existing ICT and business media relations – Essential
  • Press writing experience – Beneficial
  • Interest in ICT – Essential
  • Proficient in Google Workspace/Suite – Advantageous
  • Client relations experience – Advantageous
  • Effective Time management – Advantageous
