Account Manager: Consumer Tech PR and Digital

  • You must be active and clear on commercial value on social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok).
  • You must be able to self-manage; we don’t micromanage here but you need to deliver tangible results.
  • Quality of output must be at your core. Seriously… quality rules at DUO and so all A-types welcome.

Principal Job Responsibilities (Duties include, but are not limited to):
  • Account Management: Oversee the day-to-day management of client accounts and campaigns, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard. Quality assured delivery of the team and its outputs including proposals and pitches.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with consumer tech clients, acting as their primary point of contact (with support from the AD) and ensuring their needs and goals are met.
  • Campaign Development: Manage the development and implementation of innovative PR and digital marketing campaigns that align with client objectives ensuring they resonate with target consumer tech audiences (with support from AD/BUD and our digital team).
  • Digital Campaign Management: Coordinate and manage Consumer Digital marketing and social media campaigns for optimum results with our digital team.
  • Media Relations: Drive key media coverage for your clients with the support of a journalist writer and media relations specialist.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of campaigns and effective communication between all parties.
  • Market Insights: Stay up-to-date with the latest consumer tech trends and insights to inform and inspire creative solutions for clients.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide clients with monthly reports and regular updates on campaign performance, using insights to make recommendations.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Matric – essential
  • Relevant tertiary qualification. Degree essential.
  • 2+ years in an Account Manager role at an agency or 3+ years in-house PR & Communications at management level.
  • Solid understanding of the local tech landscape – essential.
  • Existing tech, business and consumer media relations – critical.
  • Press and digital writing experience – advantageous.
  • Experience using Google Workspace – advantageous.
